Who doesn’t love board and card games? Board and card games are an excellent way for preschoolers to develop a range of important skills while having fun. These games help improve cognitive abilities like problem-solving, memory, and attention, while also encouraging social skills such as taking turns, sharing, and communicating with others. Playing together helps children manage their emotions, build confidence, and learn how to handle both winning and losing. Additionally, games promote language development by expanding vocabulary and improving listening skills. Many games also offer opportunities for children to practice counting, recognize numbers, and explore early math concepts. Beyond the educational benefits, games foster fine and gross motor skills, such as hand-eye coordination and physical movement. Ultimately, board and card games provide a fun, engaging way for children to learn and grow in a supportive, interactive environment. Encourage playtime with these games to help your child thrive in their development!
If your child has had an accident while at school and borrowed pieces of clothing from school, please return them back to school washed. We only have a limited amount of extra pieces of clothing to offer students when they have accidents. Please also make sure you update your child’s extra outfit in their backpack with pants now since we are in the winter/cold season.
Please plan to join us on Sunday, January 26th for ICD’S Open House. School will be open from 9:30-12:00: see your child’s classroom, have a donut after Mass, and bring a friend or family who may be interested in joining the ICD school community!
