Preschool is learning all about pumpkins and Halloween this week. The students are loving all of the fun and different activities they have been doing that pertain to pumpkins and Halloween. Here are some of the fun things they are learning in their classrooms.
Mrs. Jacobi and her class cut open a pumpkin to see what was inside. Students got to feel the inside of the pumpkin if they wanted to. They counted the pumpkin seeds and found its matching partner.
Mrs. Thornhill and her students were learning about the book, Room on the Broom. They loved the book plus seeing the video that went with the book.
Mrs. Ellis and her class carved a pumpkin to see what was inside. They also got to do an experiment to see if pumpkins would sink or float.
Mrs. Larm and her students were learning about Spookley the Square Pumpkin. They were working on what makes a square and how to make one.
Ms. Sutterfield and her class were learning about Halloween. They created ghosts using paint and folded the paper in half. They also worked on their cutting skills by cutting and creating a ghost.
Mrs.Stone and her students were working on fine motor skills and cutting. They were building halloween monsters out of playdough. They also practiced cutting lines.
Mrs. Murray and her class read the book The Old Lady who Swallowed a Bat. The students loved finding rhyming words. She had students come up to put the items that the Old Lady swallowed in order.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure to ALWAYS let the office and the teacher know when dismissal pick-up changes. Knowing of the changes allows for the teachers to make sure the students get to the correct place for pick-up.
